Chola Tikki Chaat

Another preparation of chickpeas which my hubby eats with delight. It is a chaat and one plate of it quite filling. Whenever, I prepare chole ki subji, i purposely make it for 2 meals. Later I serve it 'Chola Tikki Chat'.
Without, elaborating my speech let me come to the recipe. Well. half of it is already posted. For the recipe of Chola subji please visit  my previous post on Chola Bhatura.
This is my last entry to 'The Combo Event' at Foodelicious

 and Shama's 'Family Favourite Event'
                   'Chole ki subji'

For the tikkis you will need:
4 large potatoes.
Salt to taste.
½ tsp grated ginger strands.
1 green chili deseeded and chopped.

For garnishing:

1 large onion chopped.
2 tomatoes chopped.
Handful of chopped coriander leaves.
Tamarind chutney.

Process:
For making the tikki boil the potatoes and mash them into a smooth mixture. Add salt, grated ginger and chopped chilies. Make 12 balls of this mixture. Oil your palm and place a potato ball in the palm and press it with your hand to form a round pattie. Heat a non stick pan and shallow fry it till both side are slightly golden.
Transfer them in a paper towel, so that excess oil is soaked out.

When serving this chaat, place 2-3 warm patties on a plate. Pour ladle full off hot chola subji over it. Garnish it with chopped onions, tomatoes and coriander leaves. Pour a tablespoon of tamarind chutney over it. Serve immediately.
Enjoy!
