Some Awards with Buttermilk Biscuits and Apple Dip.

3 Awards in a go! Many thanks to Deepa of Food Lyrics for making my day. I would like to pass on these awards to my fellow bloggers. All of them have amazing blogs.

Ms Chitchat of Chitchat at Crossroads

Please accept the awards!

To celebrate my awards I made these lovely biscuits.
These biscuits, low in fat are a perfect snack for tea time. Apple dip goes well with it. I made these biscuits in two batches. In the second batch I sprinkled demerara sugar over the biscuits before baking them in the oven. That is how ever optional and I have not included that in the recipe.
I am sending these to the ongoing event Cakes n Cookies at Sara's Corner.

Here is the recipe for "Buttermilk Biscuits"

This recipe makes 25 biscuits.

Ingredients:

1 ½ cup AP Flour.
1 tsp salt.
2 tbsp sugar.
1 tsp baking powder.
½ tsp baking soda.
4 tbsp butter or margarine at room temperature.
½ cup + 2 tbsp butter milk.

Process:

Preheat the oven at 200 C. Grease a baking sheet and dust lightly with flour. Set aside.
In a large bowl sift all the dry ingredients. Add margarine and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually pour in the buttermilk and knead it into a soft dough. Divide it into two halves. Roll both of them out to about .5 cm thickness.
Stamp out 5 cm rounds with a cookie cutter. Place them in the prepared tray and bake for about 12-15 mins, or until golden.

Serve warm or at room temperature with apple dip.

The recipe of apple dip follows.
Apple Dip.

Ingredients:

1 green cooking apple.
1 tbsp granulated sugar.
1 tsp cinnamon powder.

Process:

Grate apple with a grater. Transfer in a microwave safe bowl. Add sugar and cinnamon powder and stir. Microwave for 2 mins. Serve cold.
Sandwich apple dip between two biscuits or just spread on one.
Have a bite with a hot cup of tea!!
