Bread Pulao

If you are tired of having bread, butter/jam, sandwiches and you have some peices of bread lying around to be eaten, what do you do? I can suggest you something. Turn them into a spicy- tasy pulao :). Try it I bet you will like the change. I do it often and it is a nice way to use up stale breads.
You will need:
6 slices of bread. 1 small onion chopped.
1 tomato, seeded and chopped.
1-2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds.
1 green chilli chopped.
3-4 curry leaves.
1/4 tsp turmeric powder.
1/2 tsp red chilli powder.
1/2 tsp salt or to taste.
1 tsp sugar, optional.
Handful of coriander leaves chopped.

Process:

Remove the sides of the bread and chop them into small bite size. Heat a pan and add oil. Add the mustard seeds such that they sizzle. Add the curry leaves, chopped chilli and saute for 30 seconds. Add chopped onions and saute for 2 minutes till they are translucent. Add the chopped tomatoes, salt and turmeric powder. Stir and saute for 2 minutes. Add the bread peices and mix well so that the spices are coated over the bread peices. Add red chilies powder and sugar if using. Mix well. Add chopped coriander leaves and heat for another 2 minutes. Some people like to add ketchup while cooking but I prefer to serve it hot with ketchup. Use ketchup as much or as little as you like. My hubby likes it with sweet chilli sauce as well.
 Enjoy!
